most players become more concern on what's happening with their avatars/characters than what's happening with their own lives

Why is video gaming so addictive?
video games offer a world where the player can be someone he can never become.
plus some online games reward players with stronger items or cash for winning a specific event. which makes it more addictive.
This type of addiction tends to stop people from making any human interaction.
person becomes secluded. he feels like his in a world of his own and gives him satisfaction when his avatar reaches a very strong near unbeatable state.
this hinders self growth and socialization. the person stops going out with friends stops his sport stops going to school.
How to handle gaming addiction
First: get rid of your gaming console: well hide it somewhere ask someone to hide it and not give it back to you till you know you can control your gaming urges.
Study/practice: keep yourself busy study for a big exam practice your guitar skills practice your craft. just keep yourself occupied.
